In 2000, the city boasted over 3,800 electrical equipment enterprises. The electrical products are available in over 10 thousand specifications and more than 100 series. Yueqing City has become the production base with the most numerous certificates in the electrical equipment industry of the country.  Wenzhou is one of the biggest production bases of cigarette lighters in the world. Wenzhou Smoking Set Industrial Association has 260 member enterprises, of which 70 percent distribute in Lucheng District. In 2000 the city turned out 500 million lighters with the output value of 2 billion Yuan, of which metalcase lighters accounted for 94 percent of the products of the same sort in the country. Meanwhile, 70 percent of Wenzhou lighters are exported to all parts of the world. |
